Learning objectives 

Definitions: representation theory of finite groups, character theory, counting with symmetry.

Skills: basic knowledge of one of the fundamental tools in mathematics.

Prerequisites 

Necessary: Linear algebra, basic group theory.

Contents 

We will follow our own notes, which we will be publicly available and are based of numerous previous similar courses taught in the past.

Teaching format 

Blackboard lectures to the extent possible by the Covid situation.

End-of-course test 

Oral exam, more precisely a short talk (20-30 minutes) on a topic chosen together by student and teacher: among the possibilities are topics treated in class, exercises discussed during the course or any other topic which is coherent with the course’s content and methods.
