Learning objectives 

Bring the student to the knowledge of the main trends of art history

Prerequisites 

basic knowledge of the main stages of the history of art

Contents 

The course aims to address the development of the art'history from Nineteen to the twentieth century. It will proceed through the illustration of particularly significant works from a technical point of view, stylistic and social, emphasizing how it is receiving from the public and critics.

Teaching format 

lectures with projected images

Extended Programme 

The course aims to address the role played by visual arts
between nineteenth and twentieth century between allegory and
propaganda. We will proceed through the illustration of works particularly
significant from stylistic point of view and from a mere chronicle,
emphasizing reception's procedures for by the public and critics.

End-of-course test 

oral examination with identification of themes and recognition of images projected in class and selected and provided by the teacher
